| 内容記述 | A study of tables used in 177 "mature households" located mainly in the northern area of Kyushu has shown the following. The majority of dining tables and other tables possessed by the subject households are chair-seated tables, electric yaguragotatsu, and zataku, although the latter two, which are a floor-seated type, make up a numerical majority. Chair-seated tables do not attain a 70% usage rate as dining tables used on a daily basis, while slightly over 30% of the households surveyed used floor-seated dining tables, I.e. electric yagura-gotatsu and zataku. The use of electric yagura-gotatsu and zataku is very common when entertaining guests accompanied by a meal. Possible reasons for this include the absence of a chair-oriented space specifically for visitors and the prevalence of yagura-gotatsu and zataku. Compared with the results of the survey conducted in 1996, a trend towards chair-seated tables is clear. However, the presence of two patterns for taking meals in households, I.e. chair-seated and floor-seated, and three types of tables, I.e. chair-seated tables, yaguragotatsu, and zataku, remains unchanged. | |||||||||||
