内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 The symposium on printing cultural history of the international conference was held in Seoul of, Korea in September, 1997 under the auspices of UNESCO. I made a report on the subject of "The early printing history in Japan". The scholar groups of China, Korea and Japan insisted that the invention of printing occurred in each country from different viewpoint. Professor Jixing Pan of the Institute for History of Science in China set in motion the scholars of bibliographers, archaeologists and historians. He maintained his opinion that printing was invented in China a and deduced from 590 AD to 640 AD. The group of Korean scholars insisted for some time past that the Wugou jinggusang da-tuoluoni jing無垢浄光大陀羅尼経in 751 AD which was discoverd in the Buddhist Temple Pulguk-sa仏国寺, Kyongju慶州Southeast Korea, is the earliest in the world. I expressed my views that one million small wooden pagodas' Buddhist scriptures百万塔陀羅尼経were the world's oldest print reproduced in 770AD. The Horyuji temple has more than 3,000 Buddhist scriptures at present. The massproduction which is the distinguishing feature of printing is fit for the purpose by printing definition. The invention of printing in Asia was mainly done by the invention of paper by Ts'ai Lun蔡倫in China in 104AD. We think that both the spread of paper to Europe and printing contributed the invention of printing by Gutenberg in 1447. I studied the course of developing with the widespread of the Buddhism and Christianity as a starting point for Asia, especially China. During going through this process I found that type design also contribute the development of printing technique and various changes have been made. As a cultural heritage of the world, there is a movement that I preserve these documents. It is necessary for us to cope with this movement as a commitee of "Memory of the World".
