| 内容記述 | We studied designs of Japanese traditional candle, E-ROSOKU (picture drawn candle). Aizuwakamatsu city had three typical types, as ware, raised lacquer and picture of the candle in Edo era. Turuoka city also had ware and picture types. After Meiji era, only picture type traditional E-ROUSOKUs have been produced in Tsuruoka, Sakata, Aizuwakamatu, and Nagaoka cities. In this study, we report typical patterns of E-ROSOKU, more particular patterns of "KAMONSYOKU TEHON", as a core, which is a pattern book drawn in Tsuruoka city at 1887. The most of pictures are classified into Hanakago type pattern that is flowers (peony, chrysanthemum, camellia, etc), a vase, and a stand. The E-ROSOKUs of this type of patterns are produced only in Nagaoka city until nowadays, although the technique of the production is passed from Aizuwakamatsu city. | |||||||||||||||||
